Description:

Same as Spark Plug, follow a finger crack in a right-facing corner for about 40 feet or so to a big ledge on your left. You can chill here. Then step right and follow an edge that angles up and right for about 50-60 feet and varies in size from 0.25" to maybe 1.0". The footholds are mostly smears or heel-hooks. A pumpfest to the belay.

Robert Finlay & I were in the area of Smooth As Silk & I looked up at the route-to-be and asked him why hadn't it been done ('cause it seemed to be such an obvious line). He said "I don't know,...why don't you do it?" I told him that it didn't look hard, maybe 5.8 or so. So he says, "Yeah, 5.8..... or 5.11!" I thought this was Bob being a little dramatic, but......
