I'm not so sure I am going to like that. I dont mind burning forearms but I hate being cold layers and waterproof will be important words for you. You will enjoy it. Especially the first trip out. There is a lot of sitting around and chilling in the snow if you are top roping. (Same as top roping rock) You must climb with n00bs. indeed ...that one trip out with 2 sets of boots and one set of tools was with a relative noob. The one 'experienced' ice climber had led probably only about 10 routes. I couldn't see that trip as a multipitch trip...we were having to swap too many things.
Somehow that seems very familiar.
