I have noticed that many people on Rockclimbing.com who are asking legitimate question are oftem bombarded by Jokes, Smart ass remarks and generally useless information. Perhaps they could start a specific forum for this activity. I enjoy it as much as anyone and would certainly join in whenever possible. Let the games begin. This thread is getting better and better, can't believe people take a chat room so serious. Keep up the good work. Joe Garland

I don't care what you call it as long as it lasts longer than the last stuff.

In reply to: ]Hey On Belay 5.10 / Flash Guru, It will last longer when you start climbing harder than 5.10 Do you really think insulting your customers, who have a valid criticism about the durability of your product, is an effective marketing strategy?

Wow, thanks for the great customer relations. My Flash's virtually exploded within a couple months of purchase. I'm not sure how my climbing resume has anything to do with a two inch rand tear, but I'll look into it.

In reply to: Hey everyone, thanks for all the help on the names for the new products. Most are now posted on our website, the remainder will be posted later. We are looking for names for our new rubber so the same rules apply as the last contest. You come up with the names and you get the prizes (shoes, shirts, other stuff). Details: Its as hard and edges as well as anything on the market but is about 16% stickier, and about 12% more durable. Independent labs are testing right now and the results will be posted later. Good Luck. Joe Garland Sales and Marketing Manager, Mad Rock Sounds like ONYX might be a good name for this stuff....... ......just a thought. Curt

Would using the name "Flubber" be trademark/copyright infringement? I'd buy a pair of shoes with Flubber Rubber on them any day. Or, if we're going the Spanish route: "Goma" Rubber Some other ideas: GAS Rubber: Good And Sticky Rubber Bomber Rubber/Bombproof Rubber RAW Rubber: Righteous Arse Wicked Rubber Runner Rubber Would it be naughty to call it 5.14 Rubber and thumb your nose at 5.10? 4togo

In reply to: ]Hey On Belay 5.10 / Flash Guru, It will last longer when you start climbing harder than 5.10 Thanks Joe, you just helped me narrow down my options for my next shoe. One of my new requirements will be "not Mad Rock" since you feel the need to publicly belittle your customers (whether the complaint is valid or not is irrelevant). Edited to fix my bastardization of the Engrish language.

"Nails" as in the rubber is tough as nails. This is a cool sounding name and would make it sound better to people who think you rubber isnt durable. I had my Flashes for 1 Year and 3 months, climbing 2-3 days a week, before they blew :p.

Mad Duro Rubber or Mad Duro [insert durometer number here] e.g. Mad Duro 15. And then if you make a firmer one, it could be Mad Duro 20 (or whatever; no idea what the real numbers are for climbing rubber). "Duro" sounds durable, and this is actually a meaningful way to name the rubber.
