great choes 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: cuchulainn1856, 2007-04-06

these are probably the best all around shoes made for rock climbing. the grip is AMAZING, the Onyx rubber really sticks well. other than that, the shoes i got were one size too small, but it was too late by then, so o well. if anything they stay on better. :) i would recommend this shoe to anyone who wants a great all around and cragging shoe.

all in one shoe 5 out of 5 stars

With the ONYXX sole and a relative comfort fit, the Galileo is simply the best shoe. The front part of the sole is excellent for hight precision foot holds and the bulbed heel is great for foot hooks. The shoe is just flexible enough to do a little smearing.
The other great advantage is the easy, confortable fit. The shoe lets us put it on and have the contact of a lace shoe.

The only problems I had were the cost and the weaker material around the velcro.

Overall: simply the best shoe I have ever wore

All-Around Amazingness 5 out of 5 stars

Yep, these shoes do it all. I've taken them on schist, andesite, sandstone, granite and in the gym. I have other shoes, but whenever I slip these babies on the grades seem to get a little easier. The synthetic doesn't stretch much, but it does wear through if you do much toe-scumming. Wouldn't mind a little more rubber on the toe for hooking, but that's just splitting hairs. Great shoe

Magnifico! 5 out of 5 stars

These shoes are a dream! The fit is *MWAH* bellissimo, and the Onyx is stickier than a retarded kid eating honey. The straps are a bit long which if not cut down (which always brings a tear to my eye [I don't enjoy shoe S&M]) could result in the early demise of the velcros grip through constant peelback of the straps while climbing. But not too soft, not too stiff. If the Buddhist "middle way" were a shoe, it would be the Galileo.

A guy marvelled at a sliver of nothing I was standing on the other day with these shoes, and as I looked down, I realized that I could plant with such confidence that I hadn't even noticed that I shouldn't be able to. And I never give a second thought to sticking a heel-hook.

After 2 months of every-other day use, the rubber shows very little wear.

Simply the best all round shoe 5 out of 5 stars

Onyx is easily the stickiest rubber yet and so far they're wearing well. The FiveTen sloppy heel has gone and these are probably the best edgeing shoe you'll find that smears so well. Nice to have some white shoes for those SoCal summer days. Now, when will we get some white rubber?
