3 out of 5 stars Scary

While the crux is very G (and very hard!), there is very poor gear afterwards.

5 out of 5 stars Second Ascent

Another Ronca test piece. Surprised to see an entry for this route! TheNick guide shows 3 bolts, there are four. I did not use a block of Aluminum as Ronce did...just an old dual-stem #4 camelot. 5.10++++. P1 is 8X IMO...either that or I was charting new territory!

5 out of 5 stars Astounding!!!!

Tried it once 2005, one hang - flash pump. Tried it agian in 2006 and zoomed it. One insane move after another all up an improbable areate. Hats off to Ronca for this gem.
Belay at horizontal with very small gear. P2 is a 5.6 exit pitch.

5 out of 5 stars CRAZY!!!!

Did this for Yosemite training. While it prepared me not in the least for the scale of the Big Stone (which sad to say i did not do), it none-the-less was nothhing less than a crazy lead. The pins are bad. At one place an Alien worked better than a camelot due to slight differences in lobe geometry.

5 out of 5 stars Pegs the "Wack-O-Meter"

One huge roof! Heel-toe lock way over the roof is hard, but the traverse is down-right wacky. I swear I was speaking in tongues on that cold March day way way back in 1995!

IMO:THE Best route at the gap...in fact it's even better than most Gunks "test pieces".

4 out of 5 stars My contribution to the Gap

At least a dozen falls, a shreaded pinky..with a club of tape after ripping my finger apart on my first fall. Leap out at 7ft roof with small but good gear, heel hook on something (I don't think ever really did see wat I had) and crank!

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievably hard

P1 is tricky to say the least. I taped a stopper on a stick to place and protect the crux. All previous pieces are marginal...well okay, not bomber. The corner is a grunt, the final moves; devious. P4 was awkward..or I was off kilter the whole way...I teetered up it.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing last pitch

Actually all four are astounding. It's just I zoomed the last pitch, so I am a bit biased. The first two are solid and very demanding. Glad I lead neither! P4 is just incredible. The pins are manky, but easily backed up with steel nuts.

3 out of 5 stars Way over-rated

Easiest 10c at the gunks. Still a necky lead though.

4 out of 5 stars Big move

So there I was contemplating 'the move' up high. A fellow climber did all of MF, and still I contemplated. My poor belayer, bless her. At least I demonstrated excellent finger endurance if not actual climbing prowess.
Why it took me so long to make what was essentilly a straightfoward move, I don't know.
