Short and sweet

Excellent layback just above a boulder start that is harder for us short people than the book describes. Make sure your second is able to clean the route because cleaning the route on rappel, then trying to pull your rope is not a good idea. If you're lucky it won't get stuck, but if it does, you have to climb all the way up to get it out of a nasty little flake/crack.

Sustained beautiful climb

Belay anchor set on ledge above tree and on other side of crack. I did it all nuts except for the last piece when I ran out of runners. The last roof is the crux, but a definite 5.8. The rest of the climb was sustained, but felt super easy.

Second pitch is the best

Mike(rcnc21) lead the first pitch, I swung the second. I liked the top pitch better, though easier.

Ascent Note

After hearing about this route for years, I now understand the raving everyone does about it. This is one of the coolest roof climbs! The crux is at the bottom and pulling through the roof is an almost religious experience.
