I've never seen an 8 with a crux like this. Definitely a sandbag. It took me several tries to pull this very low crux. A support crew fed me additional gear from the ground. Fire a #2 TCU into the roof, as you go, followed by a mid-sized nut (any will do) in the corner of the roof. Gain the generous stance, empty your pants of any rocks that may have been dislodged in your struggles, and use a cord to haul up the rest of your rack, which you have cleverly left on the ground for the crux. The rest of the route features spectacular 5.6ish moves. The second pitch, though lichen-covered, is thoroughly enjoyable, although incredibly susceptible to rope drag. Definitely recommended for a solid 5.9 -5.10 leader. I'd call this a 10a, but the rest of the route climbs much easier than that.

Took my first trad fall. One year after this route was the site of my first trad multi-pitch climb (seconding). This is one of the most spectacular routes I've climbed. Maybe someday I'll succeed in leading it :)

This route pretty much sucks. It protects well, but the climbing isn't very fun. Not worthwhile.

Some combination of the following 3 statements is true:
1. I am a giant panzy
2. The pro on the Mummy is less than perfect, and runout in spots
3. The first pitch is harder than 5.6

Great route. Third pitch isn't very special, but the first two are classic indeed.

OK.. so I MAY have grabbed a tree root on route when I was a bit run out and ready to sling the flimsy tree.. so call the magazines and take away my on-sight. This route's not as scary as U Slot, even though the climbing is a bit harder. I could have done better protecting it.

Received on-route beta from a merciful party as I was on my third pair of brown underwear. I apparently suck at friction and am an outrageous panzy.

I have wanted to do this climb for 3 years. Loved it. Had to deal with lots of crowds and insane (90+) heat, but it was well worth it.

This is an excellent route for Crowder's. Felt a little easier than 5.8. Great trad lead.

Either I did this wrong, or this is a total sandbag at 5.8. Maybe I was on Cheese?

This is a pretty fun route. A bit heady (for me). Sharp rock at the top.
