3 out of 5 stars Son of Gunk

Supposedly the route between Hawk Eye (aka Jungle Canopy) and Daring Do was called Son of Gunk 5.6 At least that's what I heard, years ago. Seemed like a better than average Gap climb.

4 out of 5 stars retrobolted, but with a cruxy runout above the last bolt

Someone retrobolted this. Maybe that's ok since the gear and cahones for a trad lead would have been "tiny and large". Tougher protection than Red M&Ms and almost as hard.
As a bolted climb its close to R rated above the last bolt (the upper crux). I thought the mid section with marginal handholds was the harder crux. fixed anchors at top.

2 out of 5 stars over-rated

Rock is a bit funky but still ok. Climb should be rated 5.9+, no way is it a 10c.

3 out of 5 stars fun tilt

Take some large cams and enjoy the tilted traverse. After the tree rap you can tope-rope Daring Do.

4 out of 5 stars good but maybe not G protection

may seem sustained if you don't use the buckets along the arete. getting in good protection is the crux of this climb. with good footwork the last move isn't desperate.

4 out of 5 stars a couple tough moves

fun and reasonable, except for only a couple out-of-character hard moves at the bottom of the finger crack.

3 out of 5 stars steep and lonely finish

This is a good variation. The vertical wide crack is a bit unpleasant up to the big roof. Take a breather here. Then left around the roof and up the 90 degee wall. The crux is soon after you round the roof. The angle is so steep the rock is right in your face, making it difficult to see holds and find protection. But once you clip some gear and move on the top is not far off. Leading the top crux felt airy and lonely, like climbing the last pitch of "High Exposure" at the Gunks but more intense.
