3 out of 5 stars Best to belay from above for TR

Fun crack climbing. We had about three audiences while we were on the north face of the pinnacle. As mentioned before, it might be best to belay from up top and to rap off the side to save wear and tear on your rope.

4 out of 5 stars A lot of fun

The most fun climb we did all day. The holds above the roof are there but not obvious. Get your feet up quickly and try not to grunt too much.

3 out of 5 stars More of a boulder problem than a route ...

... but it's the easiest way up to the top to set up a top rope. The first move is bouldering move followed by a fourth-class scramble. We were planning on setting up for Strawberry Jam, but the wasp's nest in the middle of that hand crack scared us off.

3 out of 5 stars Harder when it's cold out!

Did this on top rope since we could barely feel our finger tips (it was about 36 degrees, but felt colder). Decent hands on the crux roof if you know where to look.

3 out of 5 stars Watch the dirt at the crux

Forgot our guide and thought this was a new 5.6, but it definitely feels like an 8+ if you don't use the arete. Watch for loose rock and make sure your belayer is paying attention.

3 out of 5 stars Had to leave a bail biner

The two holds right below the third bolt were filled with puddles of mud. If you pick up a biner with tape and the initials DM on it, it's been good to me : )

3 out of 5 stars Super easy, nice warmup

Rock was nice and cold when we got to the Bird, and this climb helped get the blood going before tackling some of the harder climbs we did.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth it

A one-move, really dirty climb. You'll drop lots of stuff on your belayer, so beware.
