Description:

First third of the route is about a 5.5 getting to the upper steep wall. Then up to the flakes and higher for an exciting overhanging finish. Bolts have rusty heads, with a few spinners. One of the 3 anchor bolts has been pulled; just the sleeve remains. Can still rig a toprope using the remaining chain bolt and the backup bolt.

Descent Options:

Rap, or walk off via hiking trail.

I love this route. One of the best at Point Dume. Great for TRing after babysitting noobs on the slab and showing them what "real" climbing is like :) The bolts up the face are kind of sketchy. I don't think I'd like to take a lead fall on them. The two bolts at the top are also a little sketchy, both rusty and one spins. I TR'ed this route. Easy (~5.5ish) for the first third, then it get's pretty stout. Watch out for the loose flake just below the 3rd bolt. Keep non-climbers out of rock fall danger too.

but i'd call it a 10a. beginning is relatively easy. if you climb to the first bolt you end up going way left and doing some weird stuff. climbing straight up (to the 2nd bolt) is more fun.
don't know that leading this route is at all safe. i've seen people take big falls and the bolts stay in. but all that salty air...

I TR'd after friends lead. I don't know what the description means by the "overhanging finish". It didn't strike me as overhanging, but the photos indicate the route for sure.

Anyway, this was my favorite route of the climbs I did there. It's got a nice mix of side pulls, underclings, pockets.
