About Tollhouse Rock:
| This large dome is about an hour from Fresno into the Sierra foothills. All kinds of routes are found here from easy topropes to multi-pitch trad climbs. A unique annual competition is held at this rock. Competitions such as climbing hand cracks with gloves, climbing a face with flippers instead of shoes, or climbing blindfolded are some of the categories. On a Friday midnight is the Simul-Climb. This is where they try to get as many climbers as possible on the climb, Tollhouse Traverse, a beautiful, four-pitch, 5.5 climb. The record was ten climbers in 1992. Contact local climbing shops for info on the competition. It is called the "Annual Tollhouse Faceoff". |

| Directions: | Drive west on Hwy. 168 and follow the signs to the town of Tollhouse. Head up the hill from Tollhouse toward the obvious large dome. Continue on past the dome(several switchback turns) until a dirt road is reached above and behind(north of) the rock. Turn right on the dirt road and follow it, taking all uphill forks until you reach a saddle under the power lines. Hike up a jeep trail to an intersection. Left goes to a gully next to the east slab of Tollhouse. Right leads to the top section called Cap Rock. |
