Description:

Simul-climbing at it's best, over pristine white granite. The route follows the buttress that runs across the middle of the photo from lower left to upper right. And starts on the ledge with the dark trees The descent goes left of the peak (as viewed from the road), and follows the large amphitheater that is left of the route around it's rim and them carefully down ledges to the boulder field inside the bowl and back to the start of the route, which can just about be anywhere you want. Unless your navigating skills are good and you want a nice backcountry day hike after your climb. If you do contour around the southeast side of the mountain and back to the lake (go down the backside to the little lake down there, and around to the right, 3 hrs?) Don't forget your camera, the summit views of the valley and Mathes Crest are incredible

5 out of 5 stars great begginers route

Climbed in 8 70m pitches in under 6 hours. The descent was the crux of the route. It took us over 2 hours and got off trail at some point. It did not feel unsafe but it was very long. Awesome views and endless fun though.

5 out of 5 stars Great romp up good rock

Like everyone else has said pick your descent route wisely and don't try to shortcut it. First half of the climb went unroped, then simuled everything but the last pitch. Great views!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Day!!

Soloed 1st seven pitches, simul'd pitches 8-13, broke last section into 2 pitches on a 35m and swung leads to the summit.

Only encountered one other party all day. Weather was perfect - low 70's and little wind. We had the summit to ourselves!! The descent wasn't so bad - this time of year there is a fairly established trail if you keep your eyes open.
