What an odviously inflamitory and childish thing to say. Grow up or get off the crag. If only men could skip the whole 17 to 25 year old portion of life thing in this world we go alot smoother.

I Say "fire em up" Burn that sweet grass if that is your thing. If not just relax I have climbed with many climbers that have been high and have never once felt unsafe. But that is your judgement call. I say burn on.

Another punk b!tch hiding behind a gun eh. Grow some balls and be a man nancy boy. Be careful if you ever decide to threaten some one with a gun face to face. They might just drop you like a stone before you get a chance to pull it pansy a$$.

Completely aside from the whole "threatening with guns thing" (does he have a holster on his harness ): I have seen a good amount of folks smoking up before bouldering or doing sport climbs. Do any of you who do this feel that you climb at your full potential (or even ABOVE it) when you are smoking the grass? Personally, I get tired and sleepy when after smoking up. So I couldn't imagine climbing while stoned. But I know some people get energetic and hyper under the influence. So, cannibus fans, let me know what you think. I am curious. Don't worry, jbtjc won;t shoot you for speaking up (I don't think ...)

I wasn't around back then...but still, we would all do well to remember that the history of our sport is pretty well rooted in substance abuse. So before you pull your .45, think about those who came before you and made climbing what it is. So before you get all worked up, tip your cowboy hat the the Vulgarians and read some of the bedtime stories on Fish's site. Climb safe!

bwg- That'd be oak tree flake to bay tree flake. Big oak tree at the base, on up to the top of grant's crack, up some broken blocks to a 15 foot or so hand crack. It is a great solo, hovever, if you'll peek in the bouldering guidebook, you'll note the general feeling about swan slab solo gumbies. You know, when I first arrived in Yosemite, I didn't understand the "local" disdain for weekend warrior bumblies. Though I do not feel all climbers out there fall under such a catergory, a year in the ditch will wear the nerves rather thin. Many would call it unfair, as I had many of the same issues when I was starting out, but clumsy and inexperienced climbers simply do cause frustration.... max [ This Message was edited by: smallwallmonkey on 2002-12-27 17:58 ]

troll... but in response to redpoint-- i dont ever smoke when ropes or gear are involved, but i often spark up before, during and after most bouldering sessions. its chill, and it does actually help unlock some of those "hidden" sequences that escape the sober imagination... i do try to show respect ot others and be as inobtrusive as possible... for the record, and i apologize if this was already mentioned, i didnt feel like reading three pages of trolling--ron kauk only did the FA of midnight lightning a few days after it was first conceived during another individuals (i forgot who) mushroom induced hallucinations...

Guns are not allowed in Yosemite If I see you with a gun there I will report you to the rangers. I have spent over 40 days in Yosemite this year and not once has some one ever had such a bad attitude as you, not even on Supertopo, the premier Yose web site. If I were to smoke there I'd blow it in your face just to spite you. As another poster said this is California, if you and your Texas butt dont like it, dont visit. Looking at your profile you are not even old enough to own a pistol and remember its a felony to bring a gun to Yosemite and they do have a jail in the Valley with room for you. You are obviously not aware of Yosemite, it is a police state, the rangers watch all that we do and they would love to find someone with a gun, especially an idiot who thinks he needs to shoot at stoner, the ranger only give tickets for pot, they would certainly arrest you and take your gun and belongings. Damn man, what is wrong with you? I hope I dont run into you, you wont like me, but it may be fun watching you get spanked on Pine Line. Troll or not, you have blow it for your future in Yosemite as far as I am concerned. If I see you, even if you dont have a gun I will report you as being armed. This is not a funny troll when you threaten to shoot someone, I take it very serious. Keep this in mind when you visit the Valley [ This Message was edited by: radistrad on 2002-12-29 13:45 ] [ This Message was edited by: radistrad on 2002-12-29 13:48 ]

Christ Almighty, here we have a complete dumb ass giving Texas climbers a bad name. Instead of going all Dirty Harry on everyone, I think he should try smoking the wacky tabacky, maybe he'll sell his big ol' gun and buy a bong instead.

Wow, Anyone who Carries a loaded .45 Winchester Magnum on a climb must be a real TOUGH GUY...Is it really loaded...like full of bullets??? WOW, I THOUGHT PEOPLE CARRIED GUNS AROUND WITHOUT BULLETS...duh!!! you probably only need one BULLET in the chamber and maybe one more round just to be safe...that way you could cut some weight...Oh you probably use steel caribiners too, so it won't really matter. Maybe you should consider some snake shot...or some blanks... just a thought!!! Really though...it sounds like you are a complete frickin' idiot...Any ass#$*& that sprays what your sprayin' really needs to reconsider what lifes all about... IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S TIME FOR SOME PROFESSIONAL HELP...TEX PS.. WATCH FOR FALLING OVALS, UH, I MEAN ROCKS NEXT SUMMER...BETTER WEAR A HELMET!!!

Mmmmmmmm, to think I sometimes envy you chaps in the States. All those national parks and big walls. Tomorrow, Im off to the Peak District (that's in England for those who aren't sure) where I'll probably spend my precious limited climbing time huddled under some overhang, cursing the rain (again) and trying to keep my gear dry. But, $#!&, Im so lucky... that's all I'll have to worry about.
