Small hands good
What a perfect end to a day: walk up to this route on a windless, warm, sunny winter day, no one in sight, route in shade.

An uber classic. A lil PG at the start but not bad.

Quality
Upper cracks reminded me a little of the start of p2 of Phobos in Tuolumne.

Nice
I thought Ace of Spades was slightly better.

Amazing
A route you will not stop thinking about for a loooong time to come. Could not onsight p1 -- very tough just below the roof! I think I have led 10b's which about the same or easier. P2 is totally different but divine in its own right. Easier to onsight, around 5.9. Take some C3s and small nuts for p1 and some 2s, 3s, and a #5 for p2.

There's a reason this has been on my to-do list for years
We walked up to an empty route in the shade late in the day. No other climbers around for miles. No time for an easier warm-up for me, so I just had to do it. Onsighted by the skin of my teeth. I think I have led easier 10a's in some places, but this is 5.9 at Tahquitz/Suicide.
Feet are very slippery during the first moves but protection is exceptionally good on this route!

Finally got to finish this darn thing
With Colin from Scotland! Onsighted p1-2 October 2010 (then stormed off), so I gave those leads to Colin. Then we swapped leads to finish. We had the route to ourselves that morning. Hot and greasy! Mantle move was exciting and scary for me. Due to the length and traversing nature of the crux pitch, I could see it being possible for the second to also sustain an ankle injury if they fell off the crux move (with rope stretch). I kept my second very tight at the start.

Enjoyable route
Swung leads. P1 and p3 have some 'don't wanna fall' opportunities awaiting you.
Everyone complains this route is hard on the feet. Sure it is, but sack up! You'll manage. :)

10c variation
Last route of the day and I was pretty tired; when I got to the crux at the top of p1, I started pumping out so I stemmed over to rest. This version I pulled off was probably more like 10a. Will re-lead this section "pure" again some time later for the rp. Even without stemming, this line seemed more like 10b than 10c.

Only pitch 1
Finally led this one. Somehow didn't fall off despite already being uber fatigued, uber pumped, and having a case of the shingles to boot. Thanks to Dave for perfect belay.
