About Red River Gorge (Climbing):

MUIR VALLEY is privately owned. If, when they want to add routes to the online guide the owners and developers will do so. The landowners do not want their property's route information to be listed incorrectly, which has been the case with other areas in the guide. Do not add information to Muir Valley or it will be deleted. Also, please visit Muir Valley's Web Site for information on route closures. You must also fill out a waiver to climb there. Thank you for respecting the owners' property.

For the latest on the Red, current access issues, and upcoming events, check out the RRGCC's enewsletter.

The Red has a lifetime of routes... traditional and sport as well as a few aid routes. If you are into exposure then you will definately fall in love with the climbing here.

The Red is also home to one of the toughest climbing organisations around, the Red River Gorge Climbing Coalition. They have been around since 1996 working with the NFS to keep climbing areas open.

Please visit our Bouldering Page.
