Description: If you ever wonder where trad climbers go in the summer in Red Rocks, you shouldn't. This is an area with many great routes, and more often than not, you'll see a half dozen parties standing in line for just one of them. Dark Shadows, is not only excellent for the grade, it's probably the most popular trad line in Red Rocks.
Approach: Approach via the main trail until you near the base of Mescalito then look for a climbers trail continuing up the north fork of the canyon. Stay out of the wash, the trail is on the north side of the wash and well defined. At the wall, the trail moves across to the base and a nice, shady area is there for the line. Beta/Updates: |
