Jen and Jake - I just got the day off, too! Maybe the 4 of us could head to Farley. What do you think? Jen - we need to climb together!

Awesome! We're hitting the gym tonight. Any chance you'll be there? If not, I'll give you a call tomorrow and we'll make plans. Can't wait to climb with you!

Hi Robb, Core, et al... Thanks very much for the extremely kind words. Robb, great leads! Except for that one nut that fell out (you know which one), great gear, good management, and really great climbing with you. I thought it was hysterical the way you stopped to document your progress on film! And you know, of course, that there was no way I was going to tell you how to climb Layback; you get in it, you get out of it. At least I was spotting you, right? ;^) Core, I think I seconded you on your first-ever lead at the Gunks or something; you climbed (of all things) Beginner's Delight, IIRC. Also, it's very nice of you to avoid mentioning that after I perhaps gave Alex some confidence, you, she and Jeremy got to watch and listen to me moan like a beeyotch with a thorn in its paw over the last move on Arrow. Fukkin move. Robb, let's do that again sometime this Autumn; maybe I'll be in better climbing shape. Working as a guide is great for the soul and general skill level, but it sucks for your own climbing skills. Oh, and my fiance says "well, ya know, only pu$$ies climb Layback the 'easy' way..." For the record, she climbed it the hard way, too. hehehe Cheers, Tai

Farley... I see my name mentioned in giving a tour of Farley...if anyone is interested, I'm going to be out tomorrow working on new routes and will climb with/tour anyone around that is there. Looks good weather-wise. So just let me know. I'll be around mid morning til the darkness ensues. ...also get your tour from me while you can....I'm moving to Boulder, CO in 3 weeks. :) Blake

I will be in touch Oh, BTW I forgot to mention it was MAD daddy longlegs swarmage at our campsite, they were literally everywhere, and each time I unzipped my tent to enter or exit, one or two woudl fall in. I must have missed one, and it had a feast, or was just tryign to wake me up adn let me out,m becasue i've discovered 6 bites on my that began itching madly sunday night. when I was awakend by the invading couple sat. night, I recall rolling over and finding one on me by feel anmd then squishing it. who knows though, might have been another in there. they really were EVERYWHERE.

Their pincers are only strong enough to pierce the skin of their prey - small soft-bodied insects like aphids. GO

I just read up on them a bit, but where we were doesn't seem to fit the conditions for chigger larvae growing...unless they were around the area above Disneyland where we picked blueberries. its not so bad now. thry don't burrow, but they do disolve and ingest skin cells. I'll have to keep the deet along next time. hiopefully the showering and scrubbing I did sunday when I got home disloged them all. those tiny basstids. Just did a bit of reading about the daddy longlegs too. nope, they can't bite us huminz.
