Description:

classic "Arkansas" splitter handcrack. FFA: T. Morris, T. Miller. This crack is so cool...literally. Last weekend there was really cool air blowing out of the lower 15 feet or so.

This was an alright climb. It was also wet and that took away from the climb. I also found that there were a lot of holds outside of the "splitter". Not sure if it was a 5.9.... guess I may have more trad experience than the 5.9 HSC climber? It was fun though.

My first trad 9, was great fun, with the crux nicely protectable with a 3.5 friend. Good moves and pro throughout. A little wet at the time we did it, but lots of fun. I also cleaned the tree that was hanging over the anchors on this one. The root system is still there, but it's not in the way, and doesn't look like it'll come loose anytime soon.

I tried this route back before I knew how to hand-jam...that didn't work out too well, and I ended up making it about 10 feet off the ground and swearing that Hackberry was the hardest 5.9 ever.
Today it was incredible- crack candy.
