Bloody Bush (Easy Street) - 5.6 popular

i cant believe that more people dont recommend this climb- it is fantastic!! i climbed it with Beau yesterday- i led P1 and he led P2. my favorite climbing is anything with a corner, and P1 of Bloody Bush has the most beautiful corner in the Gunks in my humble opinion (or that i have been lucky enough to get on thus far). it is not hard climbing by any means- 5.5 and you get pro wherever you want...it is just such fun climbing!! it was the best climb to end a really long 4 days of climbing for me. and the moves on P2 at the crux are really exciting and committing- more psychological than anything, bc holds and pro are quite good. we finished in the dark, and also didnt go all the way up to the top bc the last bit isnt great climbing, just brush and lichen. this is definitely a three star classic climb!!

Enjoyable climb. Did the std P1 of Bloody Bush. Elected to do the obvious P2 variation, strait up the the large roof (all bark, no bite, & well protected, felt like 5.3, but exposed). The real P2 crux is beyond the obvious roof at a second overhang with a finger-crack. Not hard for it's grade (5.7)

I have led this several times, good protection, can get wet since it is in a corner. 2nd pitch traverse can be awkward, rappelling is not fun since you have to rappell and traverse to the left, can get a lot of pine sap on rope.

Fun climb, pretty easy for the grade (by Gunks standards). Lots of interesting moves.

2nd'ed the 2nd. Very fun. Some very odd, uncommon moves. A few places where gear was scarce. Spicy!
