2 out of 5 stars Grillmair Left Variation

Swapped leads with the gf climbing the left variation. Lots of loose rock, not very sustained climbing. The last pitch didn't make it worth it for me; I left the climb feeling bittersweet. To each their own.

3 out of 5 stars Fun with son

First multi-pitch with Ben in which we swapped leads and he had to build trad anchors. He did great!

We did the left variation. Soon after we topped out a soloing couple arrived having done the right variation and the guy said that it was the first time he'd come in from the right and he liked it better, so next time we'll give it a try.

4 out of 5 stars Grillmair Chimney

Super day with Stacy. Her first route of this length. The last chimney pitch makes the climb worthwhile. Always fun to climb the traditional routes and get a feel for what they must have been thinking 50 years ago.
